Ken Robinson started his own financial planning firm more than 25 years ago, joining SAX Wealth Advisors at the end of 2024. With decades of experience, he’s written several books on financial planning, including the groundbreaking Don’t Make a Budget: Why It’s So Hard to Save Money and What to Do About It. He’s been quoted in The New York Times as well as Kiplinger’s Personal Finance and Money magazines, and his writing has appeared in Cleveland’s The Plain Dealer and in the journal, Science.

Specializing in working with Mild-Mannered Millionaires™ and professionals in the public sector, Ken’s calling to financial planning is about a lot more than money. “The whole point of financial planning is to get the money worry out of the way so you can experience more joy, contentment, peace, love, and serenity in your life. We want to do more than just build up a taller stack of green paper.”

Ken earned his A.B. from Cornell University in 1983, and in 1986 was granted his law degree cum laude from Case Western Reserve University. A CFP® designee since 2003, he’s a long-time member of NAPFA and the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners, serving on ACP’s Board of Directors from 2016-18. He’s also the host of their podcast, Practical Wisdom from ACP Financial Advisors.

In his off-hours, Ken enjoys bicycling and bike touring and recently rekindled his interest in amateur radio. He’s also long been interested in cryptography and won the Novice division of the American Cryptogram Association’s 2021 Online Cipher Solving Contest.
